CONROE NOON LIONS CLUB

The Conroe Lions Club was chartered in 1939 with a group of 25 business men dedicated to improving their growing community. In 1986, the club changed its name to the Conroe Noon Lions Club and has since grown to be the second largest club in America and is a beacon of service to the Conroe area! At home and abroad, CNLC Lions are rolling up their sleeves and working to help five of the world’s most critical causes: Diabetes, the Environment, Hunger, Childhood Cancer, and Vision.

Conroe LEO Club

Teens, aged 12-17, learn more about the LEO club.

CNLC has launched a new LEO Club, a service organization that also helps students develop leadership, project management, communication, and creative skills... all while making a positive impact in Conroe and around the world.

The Conroe Noon Lions Club was blessed this week with an opening prayer by Justice of the Peace and Lion Wayne Mack who pointed out how truly blessed we are to live and work in Conroe and Montgomery County at this time in history. It wouldn’t be a Lions meeting without recognizing the outstanding service to the community given by our members. Pat District Governor, Lion Paul Moore presented Past President, Lion Jason Miller, with the prestigious Melvin Jones Award for outstanding service to Lions Clubs International. Melvin Jones was the founder of Lions Clubs International which was begun on June 7, 1917, in Chicago, Illinois.

Lion Jason Miller wasn’t the only Lion winning awards this week. Our program was presented this week by Lion Bill Thompson who is the President of the Conroe Symphony Orchestra. Along with him was Gary Liebst, the Conductor of the Orchestra. Conductor Liebst explained that the Symphony Orchestra is a volunteer player, non-paid, Orchestra that was established in 1997.

"I caught one!" - CNLC hosted some special children to a very special day. There was fishing, games, prizes, hay-rides and delicious hot dogs! Lion volunteers put worms on hooks, made sno-cones, and Pres. Bryan even took a plunge in the dunking tank! Everyone enjoyed the sunshine, fun, and a race with Nellie the tortoise. 🐢

YES, we pick that book!📚 CNLC participated in the 'Read for a Better Life' program at their adopted school - Reaves Elementary. 30 + Members read to all the classes and received many questions, along with some very interesting answers from the students. There were smiles all around from the children in class to the the big kids that read the books!😊

It's back to school time and CNLC volunteers helped teachers and staff at Reaves Elementary get ready for a new school year. There was walls to decorate, numbers & letters to cut, t-shirts to organize, and books to sort. Since 2012, we have been helping to insure the success of our Reaves Bees!🐝
