This week started off with a BANG...and if you were anywhere near the Clay Shoot on Saturday, you know we’re not exaggerating.
ROAR STOPPER ALERT! Saturday's Clay Shoot was straight fire, literally. From the sound of shotguns to the sound of Lions making things happen, it was a total blast (pun fully intended). HUGE THANKS to all our volunteers who showed up, showed out, and made the event unforgettable. And yes, even YOU, who almost took out a station ... we see you.
PRE-SCHOOL VISION SCREENINGS: They're back… and they’re tiny, wiggly, and ready to test your patience and your reflexes. Pre-school Vision Screenings run all month long, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, at 16 local pre-schools. Start time is 9:00 AM, and you're usually out within an hour, unless someone mistakes your leg for a monkey bar. No experience needed, just bring your smile (and maybe a juice box).
SERVICE SATURDAY:Can't make weekday screenings? We got you.
October's Service Saturday is sticking with the sight theme, we're headed to the Healthy Kids Fair at Sam Houston Elementary School! Same Lion energy, same adorable kiddos, same change to make a difference (and maybe score a free granola bar).
TRUNK OR TREAT VISION SCREENING: Goblins Need Glasses Too - It’s spooky season, and nothing says Halloween like tiny pirates and princesses getting their vision checked. We’re teaming up with the VFW’s Annual Trunk or Treat for another community screening event. Two shifts, costumes optional (but highly encouraged). Bonus points if you come dressed as a giant eyeball.
BOARD MEETING: BBQ and Business - It’s that time again...board members to gather ‘round the smoker. Our monthly board meeting is THIS Wednesday night at McKenzie’s BBQ. Come for the leadership, stay for the brisket.
Date:Wednesday, October 8
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: McKenzie’s BBQ
THIS WEEK’S PROGRAM: A Front Row Seat.....Life in the West Wing - This week, we’re pulling back the curtain with Scott Toland, who’s giving us a peek behind the scenes of the West Wing. Expect insider stories, political drama, and maybe some tea. No matter your party, this is one program you won’t want to miss.
The Hannahgram: Roaring on Monday
Well Lions… last week tested everything... patience, schedules, caffeine limits, and maybe even our ability to smile through the chaos. But hey, it’s Monday now. A new week. A new vibe. Some days feel heavier than others, but what I love about this club- about YOU -is how we keep showing up. For each other. For the community. For the tiny humans with the sticky hands and the blurry vision. If you’re carrying a lot this week, be gentle with yourself. You don’t have to roar at full volume every day-sometimes a quiet purr and a strong cup of coffee will do.
Here’s to fresh starts, small wins, and the people who remind us we’re not in it alone.
With Lion Love (and maybe a fourth cup of coffee),
