Hey Lions  -

Well fellow Lions, this is My last Weekly Lion Up and it is bittersweet.  After being hornswoggled into this position by he who cannot be named (Mason Dupuis), I wasn't sure I would be able to pull off writing something interesting for the next 52 weeks; and I really wasn't sure if you all would get my skewed since of humor.  I'm proud to say that a number of you have told me over the past year that you have actually enjoyed my weekly weirdness; and that my friends make me feel like the Princess my son's girlfriend thinks she is.  It truly has been an honor being the Club's Secretary for the past year.  Thank you Mason, for getting me out of my comfort zone; you don't know how much fun you missed.

How about that 85th Anniversary Celebration!!  WOW,  the committee did an unbelievable job on the decorations, the food, getting so many former Presidents to attend, and of course the beverages - did everyone see Jake Freeman carrying 8 mimosas back to his table?  He said they were for everyone, but I think we all know who drank those.

Our Annual Installation Banquet is THIS Friday, June 14th at River Plantation County Club.  The social starts at 6:30 and dinner will start being served at 7:00; dress is summertime causal or athletic wear.  Please come join us to see who the new "Rookie & Lion of the Year" will be.  We will also have great food, cocktails, dancing, and so much more FUN.  We want to send off former President Jason Miller with a bang so come on out and show him what a great job he did.  Oh wait!  Reminder to  "Mr. Cowboy C. Pat Davis."  Please keep your firearm holstered but do bring your shovel in case a horse stampede comes through the dance floor and poops on it.  We know you can handle that!

Thank you to everyone who brought a dessert to and/or attended the Celebration of Life Service for fellow Lion Bill Miller.  Our show of love and support for our Lion Brother, even in passing, meant a lot to the family.

Though it won't be as spectacular as the Anniversary last week; our PROGRAM the week will be Dan Alexander with Angel Reach.  And be sure to mark your calendars for next Wednesday, as it's our annual Community Partners Appreciation Luncheon.  You know that once a year event where we get to shake hands and brush shoulders with all those wonderful CNLC supporters.

Well friends, I'm going to miss writing for you.  I know our new Club Secretary Andrew Perry is going to do an even better job so look out!  Jason, Brian, Tracy, and Sharene; thank you so much for allowing me to work with you on this board and for putting up with my crazy antics - it was truly an honor, and this Club will continue to thrive through each of your leadership.  CHEERS to your continued success!

Please be kind to others even when I'm not here to remind you.  If you are unsure what kindness looks like, go have a conversation with Bruce, he's truly one of the happiest and kindest persons I have ever met, and you'll walk away with a renewed hope that the world does have happy and kind people all over the place, just smile and you'll see them.

Signing off for the last time,
 Catherine Prestigiovanni
(former)Club Secretary
