And now here we are, tumbling straight from leftovers into holiday chaos. December is cracking its knuckles, Derby tickets are dodging us like they’re famous, and Santa’s already emailing like we’re his admin team. Here’s what’s roaring this week and beyond....     CLUB MEETING- Wednesday, Dec. 3rd We ARE meeting this week, so dust off the Lions badge, hydrate, and stretch—holiday season is a competitive sport. This week includes Derby suspense, committee business, and a program that may or may not make you rethink every link you click.   LUCKY DERBY- The Countdown Begins This Wednesday, we draw the 28th finalists, who will return next week in hopes to grab the keys to a brand-new shiny CAR. Yes, a real car. Yes, you should be here. Word is the salesmen have officially sold every ticket, so Wednesday is going to be a full-throttle, high-adrenaline Lions showdown. And next week? The WINNERS FINALE. Bring popcorn. Or at least bring your excitement. FIRST DRAWING: Wednesday, Dec. 3rd FINALE: Next week - same place, same energy, bigger stakes.   HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Christmas at Reaves: Wrapping Party CNLC has purchased gifts for some very deserving kiddos, and the Reaves committee needs your help wrapping them. No sign-up needed - just follow the sound of tape dispensers and holiday chaos. Date: Wednesday, Dec. 10 Time: After club meeting Location: Yellow Rose Rooms (across the hall)   Jingle Bell Bash- Santa’s Escort Team Needed Join Santa’s official Lions escort squad as we walk him through every classroom at Reaves. Hugs, smiles, trinkets... the full festive tour. Please sign up so we know who’s coming. Date: Friday, Dec. 19 Time: Half-day morning event Location: Reaves Elementary Sign-Up Link: click here ✅   Christmas Baskets #1- Toiletries Drive - We’re collecting standard-size toiletries for our elderly Christmas Basket recipients- no travel-size minis or industrial jumbos, please. Bring with you to club and drop in the box. Dates: Now through Friday, Dec. 12 Items Needed: Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, brushes, combs, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes Delivery Location: Bring to next two club meetings   #2- Boxing Day (the Lions version) The Eyeglass Center turns into a full-on food warehouse  as we sort, pack and box Christmas Basket items. Usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half... faster if the caffeine hits right. Date: Tuesday, Dec. 16 Time: 10:00 AM until finished Location: Eyeglass Center Sign-Up:  click here ✅   #3- Deliveries (Spread the Cheer) After the Christmas Social, Lions deliver baskets to elderly referrals.  We'll have around 35 baskets to deliver. IMPORTANT - Those who sign up get priority. Deliver in pairs and spend a few extra minutes visiting- the human connection is the true gift. Note: Must deliver in pairs; visits encouraged!   CHRISTMAS SOCIAL- Wednesday, Dec. 17th Mark your calendars - our final meeting of 2025 as we enjoy 'Reindeer Games', plus a special performance from Mr. Scrooge himself and the Players Theatre Company.  It's shaping up to be festive, fun, and spiked with holiday spirit (the wholesome kind…mostly) event. Date: Wednesday, Dec. 17 Time: Regular meeting time - will open the doors a little early.   P&S MEETING THIS WEEK Wednesday, Dec. 3 - (Yes, this one is actually happening.)   THIS WEEK’S PROGRAM- “Social Engineering” Presented by Lion David Heath - a crash course in modern digital mischief: how social media platforms help us, hurt us, and make us question every targeted advertisement that seems just a little too accurate.   The Hannahgram:  Holidaz, Gather & Gear Up This is the week where December slowly tiptoes in before it tackles us head-on. Derby finalists are lining up, wrapping paper is preparing its annual rebellion, and Santa will soon be calling us like we’re his seasonal project managers. We’ll juggle it all, because that’s what Lions do: we show up, we serve, and we shine - even when December is wearing us out like an overworked elf. And if anyone asks why we’re still calm? Just say: “Because Lions run on leadership and holiday magic.”   With Lion Love (and leftover stuffing in hand), Hannah Medley Club Secretary 2025-2026
