Lions, did you know lobsters pee out of their faces?
“Which is still somehow classier than Jake and Andrew in short shorts.”
ROAR STOPPER ALERT!
Gratitude is seriously contagious! We had two TLC campers at Wednesday’s meeting who stopped by just to say thanks for camp and honestly, it was the sweetest reminder of why we do what we do. Big hearts, big smiles, and a big impact. And if that didn’t melt you a little, check your pulse…you might be part cactus (yes, talking to the cop table).
COMMUNITY PARTNERS: Level Up & Win!
Community Partners: Like QVC, but with more heart and less shipping fees? VP Sharene is running a one-week-only sales promo and bribing us with a $50 gift card.
Here’s the deal:

2 tickets for re-upping
3 tickets for leveling up
Basically, sell like your names on QVC.
Deadline: For contest this Wednesday at club! BUT ALL Community Partner sales close September 1
Fishing poles? Check. Sunscreen? Check. Excuses not to help? Nope. This is a joy-on-the-water day for special needs kids, where every cast is a win and every catch has its own cheer squad. We need kids signed up AND Lions volunteering so spread the word in your church, group chat, or to that neighbor 'who knows someone’.
Date: Saturday, September 13

Location: Owen Park (by the old Westside Rec Center/YMCA)
READING AT REAVES: Dramatic Read-Alouds Encouraged
School’s back, which means our first Reading at Reaves is here! Wednesday, Sept. 17. Grab your favorite time slot quickly before someone else snags all the good books. (Pro tip y’all: the kids want Captain Underpants, not War and Peace.)
DISTRICT P&S MEETING: We Need You! Need a hump-day field trip? Join us Wednesday, Sept. 3, as we pack the house for President Tracy’s presentation: “What Makes Us the Greatest Lions Club in the World.” Spoiler: it’s our unique membership (yes, including you). So clap loud, nod during the speech with her, and sneak dessert if you must. Just don’t miss it…we’ve got bragging rights to uphold.
Date: Wednesday, September 3
Time: 7:00 PM (some carpooling will be available)
Location: China Bear Restaurant
THIS WEEK’S PROGRAM: Montgomery County Community Foundation - Julie Martineau is here to spill the tea on all the local organizations MCCF supports. Translation: you’ll walk away inspired and with more ammo for trivia night.
The Hannahgram: Ants in My Plans
This weekend I heroically picked up what I thought was yard brush… plot twist, it was a fire ant pile. Now my hands look like I tried finger-painting with hot sauce. By Monday, Warner crowned me his “favorite little train-wreck.” Honestly? Accurate. But hey…Lions don’t quit, we just itch, scratch, and keep serving!
