October is knocking on the door, and cooler temperatures mean it's time to get even busier. We've got the Clay Shoot coming FAST, preschool vision screenings starting this week, another Service Saturday on the calendar, and one final push to find our next Hometown Military Hero.

Okay Lions, we're officially in Clay Shoot crunch time, and there are TWO BIG THINGS we need from you:
🚨 1. SHOOTERS — TURN YOUR REGISTRATIONS IN TODAY! If you're planning to shoot, we need to know NOW so we can get everything lined up for Saturday.
🚨 2. SCOREKEEPERS — WE NEED YOU!
Not shooting? We especially need volunteers to help keep score on the courses.
And if you want a little extra shooting fun, we'll still honor the Prepay Discount for Shoot'agains & Fun Shot Flurry—just let us know ASAP!

We've been asking all month, and now we're officially down to the wire. THIS IS THE LAST WEEK!
The deadline is September 30, but as long as we have your application by Friday, we're good!
If you know an active-duty service member or veteran who deserves to be recognized as our next Hometown Military Hero, please don't assume someone else will nominate them.

Our Preschool Vision Screenings begin THIS WEEK and continue throughout October. No experience? No problem! We'll show you exactly what to do. And if you've tried to use the sign-up and are having trouble, don't give up—just reply to this email and we'll get you signed up!
Come spend a morning with some pretty cute kids while helping us do one of the things Lions do best—sight conservation.

Family Wellness & Resource Fair

Our October Service Saturday keeps the kids' vision theme going! We'll be providing children's vision screenings at the Family Wellness & Resource Fair, where we generally screen around 100 kids. That means we're going to need plenty of Lions to help us get everyone through!

Just announced on the PA system 🔊 We'll be handing out ice cream treats to all the kiddos with perfect attendance during the month of September; and who does like ice cream? Be there to help us out next Tuesday, sticky hands and all - SIGN UP TODAY!

Our scheduled program had to cancel, but Program Chair Mike is already working the phones and lining up a backup.

Can someone explain how October is THIS WEEK?
I feel like we just installed our new officers and kicked off the Lions year, and somehow, we're already talking Clay Shoot, fall events, and preschool screenings.
At this rate, I'm about three Playbooks away from reminding y'all about Christmas. 😂
So, I'm not rushing it. I'm going to enjoy October, enjoy basketball season getting closer (FINALLY 🏀), and pretend the last three months of 2026 aren't about to fly by.
That's it. That's the coaching advice this week—try not to blink. 😂
