"Conroe ISD Superintendent talks growth at Conroe Noon Lions Wednesday"

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will have heard the buzz around town about Conroe’s ranking as No. 6 in the nation for population and economic growth from a new study by SmartAsset. While no surprise to those who’ve looked out their car window in the past 10 years or tried grocery shopping at H-E-B, the statistics on Conroe’s growth are staggering. 
For the program this week, Dr. Curtis Null, the superintendent of schools for CISD, shared how this rapid growth is impacting the challenge of educating the area’s youth. CISD currently serves over 71,000 students, and that number has jumped by approximately 3,000 additional students for each of the past couple of years. For context, Dr. Null said the average elementary school houses around 900 students. That’s almost three new schools being added to the district every year. CISD is already the 9th largest district in Texas and the 60th largest in the United States. Dr. Null says we should expect to see those rankings climb even higher.
