Elizabeth Woods reports on Mission Hall at Veteran's Park nearing completion

Last week, the Conroe Noon Lions Club hosted our annual Legend of the Lion Dinner Dance & Auction which was a huge roaring success!

Initial figures look amazing with a possible 15% increase in funds raised over 2024. The community support for the “Lions Under the Lone Star” Boot Scootin’ great time a huge success. The money raised is used to fund the Clubs’ efforts in supporting Lions giving back to the community! To those who attended, donated, bought, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes - this event wouldn’t be what it is without you.

Community Partner Spotlight of the Week highlighted Pileco Inc. and Olde Magnolia Place RV Park. We are extremely grateful for these great sponsors!

Lions were incredibly fortunate to hear from this week’s luncheon speaker giving us the latest updates on The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park. Executive Director, Elizabeth Woods, provided a presentation of the history of the Memorial, beautiful video of what is currently available for tours, and updates on work in progress.

When commenting on when the park would be completed, Elizabeth answered, “Never … there will always be new memorials added as long as there are individuals serving in our military and as first responders. The new 11,000 sq ft Mission Hall is nearing completion. There are ongoing additions of names added to the memorials and families can request these additions by visiting the website: https://www.honoredmission.org

Service Saturday was this past Saturday, Feb. 22, for Meals on Wheels.
