"Conroe grad ‘Meme’ Davis presents program on workforce education at Conroe Noon Lions"

Will Warren / Conroe Noon Lions Club

Welcome to another Wednesday with Conroe Noon Lions Club! April is full of action and events. First off the Pete Brashear Memorial Speech Contest is scheduled for April 12, we will honor Past President Ralph Perez with the Past District Governor Distinguished Achievement Award at the District Convention on April 21 and April 22 at Houston Hilton North and then on that same day (April 22) there will be a Vision Screening for kids ages 2-14 at Travis Intermediate School from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Still have some time to volunteer? Our next Service Saturday will be on Saturday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Montgomery County Food Bank in Conroe with the goal of filling up 18 volunteer slots. There was a quick recap by VP Tracy Irvine about our club’s volunteering efforts at the concession stand during the Montgomery County Fair: It was a success! Many thanks to the Lions who stood on their feet for hours, flipped burgers and severed up piles of nachos, you’re the best! And now on to the show, I mean presentation. Today we were honored to have the presence of a Conroe High graduate and an Associate Dean of Workforce. Sheremetria “Meme” Davis with Workforce Education at Lone Star College Houston North Campus gave us a brief bio: she started in her current role in 2020, she has a bachelor’s in criminal justice and Master of Business Degree, both from Texas Southern but she never forgets where it all got started as a Tiger at Conroe High School, graduating the same year as our Club’s President Warner Phelps.
